This is a daily painting that I worked on today, but did not finish. (So I guess it's not a daily painting, huh?) Well, let's just say that I paint every day, even if I don't get to finish one - LOL!
Anyway, I'll be adding some more elements to this painting, and will re-post the picture when I'm done.
This is a 24x48 inch canvas, which is probably why I ran out of time to finish it. You would think that it's not that much more coverage, versus a 24x36, but it IS a big difference! Anyway, I hope that you like it so far...

I love creating these abstract paintings. I put a lot of energy into them as I paint. When painting with acrylic paint, you have to keep moving, or else the paint will dry up on you, and then you have to go over the same areas again!

This is a new daily painting, an abstract landscape on canvas. I used a palette knife and brushwork in this piece, to help create visual interest. The mountains are slightly more purple than indicated here, and create a strong contrast against the orange on the left side of the painting.

I've received a number of commissions lately, and this one is one of my favorites- the Statue of Liberty silhouette against the sunset. I used gold highlights for parts of the torch and head-piece.
The green-ish background represents not only the dark waters of the Hudson river, but also the green patina that the statue tends to lend itself to over time, due to corrosion/oxidation.
